Privacy
The short version: we only collect what we need, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it.
Who we are
This website is run by NY Slice Pizza ("we"). Our information officer is Mark, reachable at mark@nyslicepizza.com. Ordering, payments and Slice Club happen in our ordering app at ordernyslicepizza.com, which has its own privacy notice.
What we collect, and why
- Franchise brochure requests and applications. Your name, email, mobile number, the area you're interested in and your answers to the application questions. We use them to email you the brochure and to contact you about franchising. They're stored in our Google Workspace (email and a spreadsheet) and in our website database on Cloudflare.
- Slice Challenge. When you take on the challenge, our crew may record your first name, your time, the store and the date, and show them publicly on the leaderboards on this website and on the board in store. Ask any store, or email us, to have your name removed.
- Crew sign-in. If you work at NY Slice and sign in to Crew corner, we record your email address against the times and events you add.
- Technical information. Like every website, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We also use Cloudflare's privacy-friendly visitor counts, which don't use cookies.
Cookies
A spam check on our forms (Cloudflare Turnstile) and the crew sign-in may set strictly necessary cookies.
If you tap OK on our cookie notice, we also use Google Analytics to see which pages people use, and the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and TikTok pixels to measure our ads and show them to people likely to be interested. These set cookies and share what you do on this site (pages viewed, and taps on order, directions and call buttons) with Google, Meta and TikTok, under their own privacy policies. If you tap No thanks, none of them load. Links to our ordering app carry a code saying they came from this website, with no personal information.
Sharing
We don't sell or rent your information. We share it only with the services that run this website (Cloudflare and Google), who process it on our behalf, with the advertising services above if you've said OK to cookies, or where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Franchise enquiries are kept for up to two years after our last contact, unless you become a franchise partner. Slice Challenge times stay on the leaderboard for the season they're set in and may stay in our records of past champions.
Your rights
Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) you can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to us using it. Email mark@nyslicepizza.com and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).
